Ellen Douglass Haith

Ellie joined the group in 1997. As a student at Wellesley College, she sang with a small a cappella group as well as the College Choir. Later collaborations included the Cornell Chorus, Chorale, and Chamber Singers, the CCO Chorus, and choral participation in productions of the Ithaca Opera Association. She had the great good fortune to perform under such conductors as Margaret Hillis, Eugene Ormandy and Thomas Sokol. She finds the size and repertoire of the CVE challenging and exciting.

A resident of Trumansburg, Ellie spends many non-singing hours as a volunteer for the Tompkins County SPCA and Cayuga Nature Center. She is also an accomplished and addicted needleworker, favoring samplers in silk and linen. She is a snake-handler, a former bus driver, and raises poodles.

Activities of the Cayuga Vocal Ensemble are partially funded by the New York State Coucil on the Arts, a state agency, and private donations. More Ithaca area events can be found at ithacaevents.com.
