Lisa Frank (alto)Elizabeth (Lisa) Frank, alto, has been interested in singing since she was 4 years old, and was teased for having the compulsion to harmonize every song that was sung! She is a graphic and web designer who received a BFA from Hartford Art School, University of Hartford, CT, where she was also a member of Hartt Collegium at Hartt College of Music. Having moved to Ithaca from Syracuse in 2000, she still sings as a soprano with the Syracuse Vocal Ensemble. She has sung pieces in over 17 languages to date! Lisa studied musical theater performance in New York City with Craig Carnelia, writer and composer of the Broadway show Is There Life after High School? Not surprisingly, her hobbies include theater, dance - especially tap dancing - and the internet. She has performed with local theatre groups; Cortland Rep, Firehouse Theatre, and the newly formed Icarus Theatre Ensemble, as well as several groups in Syracuse. Originally from Connecticut, she still serves as soloist for seasonal concerts and masses with the St. Peter Claver Choir in West Hartford, CT. Lisa was a seven year member of the Hartford Chorale in Connecticut, which performed with the Hartford Symphony, Dave Brubeck, Mitch Miller, among others. Her greatest experience there was performing Brahms' German Requiem with Robert Shaw guest conducting. She also performed with the Syracuse Oratorio Society from 1994-1998, as well as the Hendricks Chapel Choir at SU in 1999. In the summer of 2000, she joined the Bershire Choral Festival, for the opportunity to sing the Rutter Requiem, with John Rutter conducting. Owner/graphic designer of Frankly Graphics, Lisa, her husband Matt and her cat "Allegro" love Ithaca and are all thrilled to be living in such a beautiful and scenic area. |
